Recent Projects: 

 

Amy regularly performs as half of dance acro duo 'Amy and Saya', performances include a wide variety of cabarets, corporate work and contemporary pieces. 

R&D with Angharad Jones on an LGBTQ+ themed dance theatre piece for young people, residency supported by Arts Council Wales and Theatr Clwyd.

Performing in 'River' site specific collaboration project in the River Dee, Peterculter. 

Creating 'CoinciDance' with Amy Robertson, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe and Dancelive, Aberdeen.

Improvised performances with In-The-Making Collective at Edinburgh Fringe 2016-2019. 

Working with Liminal Dance on interactive children's piece 'Movementcraft'.

Performing in 'Adventures in Time' with Circus Alba at various locations in Scotland and at Valencirc festival in Valencia.

Entertainment work (stilts, acro, aerial) with Circus Alba, Circus Arts Scotland, Edinburgh Performers, Skylarks and Delighters.

Amy teaches classes for all ages in a variety of styles including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap and acro.

 

 

Training

 

Amy originally trained in Aberdeen at Jemma McRae School of Dance, Danscentre, Adagio Aberdeen and Citymoves. They trained in styles including ballet, contemporary, jazz and tap and have their RAD Advanced 2 Ballet as well as a Distinction in ISTD Advanced 2 modern. 

 

In 2013 Amy was awarded a place on the Dancers Emerging Bursary Scheme at Dancebase, Edinburgh which gave them a year of free professional classes, mentoring from Matthew Hawkins and the opportunity to participate in and observe several professional residencies.

 

Amy has taken part in professional dance development weeks with choreographers including Henri Oguike, Ian Spink, Janis Claxton, Errol White, Eliot Smith, Christine Devaney, Diana Loosmore and Kerry Nicholls.

 

Amy still regularly takes class in ballet and a variety of contemporary styles, and participates in workshops in Scotland, the UK and abroad.
